REsys Media Set (Packaged for shipment)

The REsys Media Program (Ion Exchange Tanks)

REsys, Incorporated manufactures water management systems designed to save energy, conserve water, and help with regulatory compliance.  Many of our systems involve the purification (deionization) of water utilizing the ion exchange process.  Periodically, the media tanks used in this process require regeneration or disposal.  It is the intent of REsys to offer a comprehensive program that our customers will find functional, easy to understand, and cost effective.

Regardless of any information to the contrary, both federal and state governmental regulations place ultimate responsibility for waste on the generator of that waste.  With that in mind, REsys designed its media program to be as comprehensive as possible so as to limit the potential to violate regulations under RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act).  REsys has been at the forefront of the industry in pioneering heavy metals removal in waste streams generated in the cleaning of electronic assemblies.  The media program we offer takes a conservative, yet pragmatic, approach to the process and virtually eliminates the concerns that users of recycling equipment might have.

 Outline of the program:

REsys provides two sets of media tanks at time of installation.  This serves two purposes:

  1.     Virtually eliminates downtime.  When the first set of media tanks is ready for regeneration, the second set is there ready to take over.

  2.     Facilitates compliance with the program.  There is no tendency to let either media tanks or Heavy Metal Recovery tanks (HMR’s) run beyond their useful life due to production constraints.

  3.     REsys provides high temperature tanks that have color-coding and male/female fittings so as to prevent errors during installation.

REsys pretreats resins prior to shipment to ensure maximum deionizing potential when installed.  Two proprietary in-house processes are employed so the user receives resins ready for use, unlike the “off-the-shelf” resins provided by other recycle system manufacturers.

When process water resistivity drops below the level dictated by your operating standards, the second set of DI tanks is entered into service.  Downtime is no more than a few minutes.  Carbon, cation, anion and optional mixed bed tanks are returned to REsys for regeneration/replacement.  Because of the HMR system, these tanks are lead-free and can be shipped by common carrier.  A sampling port is provided after the HMR tanks so water can be tested for lead break-through (REsys performs this test for you).  This will NOT occur if the system is operated properly.

The first HMR tank is replaced at the time of the eighth regeneration cycle.   After performing a required one-time toxic characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP) test to verify low lead content and the material is verified as a non-hazardous waste. The HMR tank is shipped to REsys via common carrier and REsys will dispose of it as a non-hazardous waste under manifest.  It is important to note that the HMR tank will NOT have lead levels high enough to be considered hazardous, but REsys will ALWAYS dispose of it in the most conservative manner – as a categorized non-hazardous waste.  By doing so, there need never be any concern on the part of the waste generator for improper disposal.  The disposal fee is built into the quoted cost of the REsys Media Program.

The second HMR tank is moved into the first position and a new replacement HMR tank goes into the second position.

Scheduling the shipment and pick-up of the tanks is completed by REsys.  On-line scheduling is verified through email to improve communication.  Billing is completed with a single line item eliminating confusion and the possibility of hidden fees.

REsys provides water sampling kits, sets up the TCLP test, and arranges shipping.  You make only one phone call to REsys. . . . we do the rest.

This is the most comprehensive program available in the industry.  Contact REsys today for details.
