Effluent Treatment System:
Despite the complexities of local regulations, it is often easy to treat waste streams to make them compliant with local discharge mandates. Two of the most common "offenders" found in effluent are heavy metals and either high or low pH. Fortunately, REsys offers solutions to address both of these problems. Heavy metals, such as lead or copper, can be removed from a waste stream by special resins that have an affinity for the molecular structure of these metals. Resins in Heavy Metals Removal tanks capture these materials and prevent them from moving into the discharge stream. A licensed waste handler can then easily dispose of the HMR tanks. REsys provides these tanks as part of our ETS (Effluent Treatment System) and can recommend a waste handler to assist with their disposal. Municipal treatment works usually provide a range of acceptable pH values that can be directed to drain. Values below this range are too acidic, and those above are too alkaline. The ETS can automatically monitor pH and treat the waste stream with either acid or caustic, whichever is needed, to bring the pH to a more acceptable, neutral value prior to discharge. Waste streams that have predictable components are easiest to treat. If your manufacturing process produces waste that has heavy metals and/or unacceptable pH values, effluent treatment may enable you to discharge to drain in a compliant manner. For more information please contact Brian Maheu @ 800-873-7379 or bmaheu(at)resysinc(.)com |
